"For Wal-Mart, a key to our produce department is making sure that we are regionally correct on our variety and selection. Organizations such as the Southeast Produce Council bring this issue to the forefront of produce procurement." -- Steve Tursi of Wal-Mart
Our Vision
To Be The Premier Southeast Produce Resource
Our Mission Statement
To be the premier resource for produce education and information, that can provide a platform to build professional relationships based on trust, integrity and passion.
The Southeast has become an increasingly important center for agricultural, retail and foodservice growth. In fact, the SPC is continually cultivating ideas to spread the word about the importance and benefits of the Southeast region and its impact on the produce industry.
In order to meet the growing demands and needs of this region, the SPC was formed as a non-profit organization to accomplish the following goals:
|
| 1. |
Promote the fresh fruit & vegetable industries of Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Kentucky and Virginia through good fellowship, cooperation and mutual interest among its members. |
| 2. |
Instill a high sense of professionalism and loyalty to each other. |
| 3. |
Support charitable causes in the Southeastern communities. |
