Vegetable Commodities:
Avocado:
Florida is harvesting moderate supplies on big sizes, very good on smaller sizes. Markets are weaker on the smaller sizes. Quality is good. There is also some Dominican Republic avocadoes being shipped from Florida as well.
Broccoli: Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina harvesting in light supplies. Quality is good. Markets are firm.
Cabbage:
New York, Wisconsin and Canada are shipping storage cabbage. North Carolina and Georgia are harvesting. Quality is good. Red & savoy cabbage available. Markets are steady.
Celery:
Florida will start December 21st.
Collard Greens:
Georgia and South Carolina as well as Texas have steady supplies. Prices are steady.
Colored Bell Peppers:
Florida red pepper expected to start first week of December, yellow pepper the following week and orange by the middle of December.
Corn:
Florida going with moderate supply on all colors, quality is good and markets are steady.
Cucumbers:
Markets are steady. Florida is harvesting with good supply. Quality ranges from fair to good on ground cukes. Pole grown cucumbers are available from Florida. The pole grown looks much better than the field grown. Honduras has started also with pole grown cucumbers.
Eggplant:
Florida has moderate supplies. Markets are steady. Quality is better after some scarring from Tropical Storm Ida a couple of weeks back. Italian, Sicilian, Japanese and Chinese eggs are available in light supplies.
Grape Tomatoes:
Currently loading from Florida in light supplies. Markets are strong. There are a variety of packs available: 1#, 2#, and the pints. Golden grapes, regular and organic are available. Prices are strong on the regular grapes, gold and organics. Expect better supplies by mid December.
Green Beans:
Florida is harvesting with good supply. Markets are steady with good quality.
Green Bell Peppers:
Markets are steady. Florida is harvesting in moderate supplies. Quality is good.
Green Onion:
Ohio and South Carolina are harvesting with good supply and quality. Markets are steady.
Hard Squash:
Markets steady on Acorn and Butternut, stronger on Spaghetti and Buttercup. Product is shipping from Georgia, New York and Florida. Spaghetti is showing scarring. Quality is good on all items with the exception of the spaghetti.
Heirloom Tomatoes (Ugly Tomatoes):
Eastern Growing Area: Markets are strong. Quality is fair to good. Supplies are limited. Quality is good.
Peppers:
Currently loading hot peppers from Texas, Florida and Florida. We have jalapeno, Serrano, Poblano, and Anaheim, also finger hots and Cubanelle. Markets steady.
Leaf Items-Green Leaf-Boston-Romaine:
New Jersey is harvesting in light supplies. Markets are strong.
Lettuce: New Jersey is harvesting in light supplies. Markets are strong.
Mustard Greens:
Georgia, South Carolina and Texas are going with good supplies. Markets are steady.
Pole Beans:
Light supply from Florida. Quality is good. Markets are strong.
Radishes:
Florida is harvesting with good supplies and the quality is very nice. Markets are steady. Bunch radish available from Florida is steady supplies.
Roma Tomatoes:
Mexico and Florida are harvesting in very light supplies. Markets are very strong. Overall quality is good. Better supplies expected by mid December.
Sweet Potatoes:
Louisiana and North Carolina continue to ship with steady supplies. Quality is good. Markets are steady.
Tomatoes:
There is currently in a gap from Florida with very light supplies on 5x6 and larger. Markets are very strong. Expect better sizing by mid December. Quality ranges from fair to good.
Turnip Greens:
Quality is good from Georgia, South Carolina and Texas. Markets are steady. These are available with or without roots.
Yellow Squash: Quality is fair to good. Central and South Florida are the main areas we are pulling from. Markets are strong.
Zucchini:
Good supplies. Quality is good. Markets are steady. Central and South Florida are the main areas harvesting from currently.
Fruit Commodities:
Apples: Gala, Honey Crisp, Red Delicious, Gold delicious, Romes, Jonathans, Cortlands, Jonamacs, Fuji’s and McIntosh are currently available from Michigan. Wisconsin is currently shipping Mcintosh, Cortlands, Honey Crisp, Golds and Reds. New York and Pennsylvania are currently shipping Reds, Macs, Honey Crisp, Cortlands, Empires, and Golds. The best deals are out of Michigan. The overall quality has been good from all areas.
Grapefruit:
Florida:
There are good supplies on the middle sizes 40ct and smaller, lighter supplies available on 32ct and larger. Quality is good. . Markets are steady. Texas is harvesting in good supplies on 36/40/48ct, lighter supplies on 32ct and larger. Bahama Stars will not ship again until after Christmas.
Limes:
Mexico has good supply on most sizes. Quality has been better since moving to new areas. Markets are steady on large sizes, higher on smaller sizes.
Oranges:
Hamlin’s and Navels are available in moderate supplies. Hamlins are running small this year (Mostly 125’s). Color has improved. Markets are steady. Pineapple variety will start in two weeks.
Papaya:
Solo papaya’s volume and market are steady. Maradol supplies remain in steady supplies from Belize & Guatemala. Overall quality is fair to good. Better quality is coming from Guatemala. Mexico is harvesting in steady supplies and prices are steady..

Concord Grapes finished.
Tangerines:
Markets are strong, no supply on 80ct, few 100ct Sunburst. Sunburst quality looks very good at this time. Markets steady on bags and smaller size fruit. 150’s and 180’s are the predominate size. Most shippers expect be finished around first week to second week of December.
Variety Melons:
Personal seedless are available in fair supplies. Florida and Texas are the area that is pulling from. Markets are steady.
Watermelon:
Markets are all over the board. The volume on seeded is lighter than the sdls. Quality is fair to good from all areas. Mexico and Florida are harvesting in steady supplies.
STRAWBERRIES: Florida is harvesting in very limited supplies. Markets are strong. We expect better supplies the second week of December.
